Giving Trip 2016

2016 PKF Giving Day

On December 3, 2016, the PKF Board traveled to Dekemhare, Eritrea to donate school supplies and scholarships to students and over three dozen educators at Tsenat Elementary and Middle School in Eritrea. In 2016, PKF was able to provide over 170 students and 37 administrators with support packages, financed through funds from the 2016 PKF Gala and donors.  The top ten students per grade level received: notebooks, a variety of pens and pencils, sharpeners, calculators, rulers, academic planners, graph notebooks and more. Each educator also received similar educational packages to support their classrooms.

Seven students were awarded brand new backpacks in addition to the 2016 Petros Ketema Foundation Scholarship, valued at $250 USD each. Hundreds of students were surrounded to cheer on and support and their fellow classmates. The excitement and happiness the students had while they awaited the names of the recipients are simply unexplainable.

This year, Tsenat Elementary and Middle School also received brand new soccer equipment thanks to the Elk Grove Soccer League. From soccer uniforms to cleats to cones (among other things) - the generosity of the Elk Grove Soccer League helped to make this day even more special for these students.
